My name is Cody McCullough and I’m a veteran of Delta Company, Second Ranger Battalion. On November 24th, 2015 I was medically discharged due to my back being injured from a prior deployment. Being released from Ranger Battalion was bittersweet, and I was incredibly lost with what I wanted to with my life. I was juggling the idea of going back to college in February and that’s when I was introduced to Gallantfew. In early March I was connected to Grant McGarry, where he has relentlessly helped me in giving me structure and guidance with college, résumé and job opportunities, other rangers in my area for support, proper help with my V.A. case, and in general giving me great things to look forward to and taking me away from being lost in life. I can say with confidence that without him I wouldn’t have taken initiative to appeal my disability case, I wouldn’t have gotten a chance to be apart of the Warrior-Scholar Program, I wouldn’t have been aware there are other ranger veterans who literally live down the street from me, and I truly wouldn’t be as well off as I am today. I’m incredibly surprised in the couple months we’ve known each other that the Darby Project has been able to do so much for me and I am truly thankful.
